In 2022 I partnered with Starbucks marketing and Authentic to redesign and rebuild their internal marketing product, titled 'Aroma'. Starbucks runs a vast number of different specials and promotions, from ongoing deals, to those personalized to individual members. Additionally, these promotions can be run through different regions and different platforms. This extensive catalogue of offers was managed by hand, and often through code, creating a byzantine system for tracking, updating, and reviewing this content.
Over a 6 month period I worked with a dedicated strategy / UX designer to build a completely new internal product for the internal Starbucks marketing team. With rolling monthly deliverables, we built out the full product piece by piece, and feature by feature, while the team was actively using it. Feature launches were prioritized based on the functionality needs of each upcoming promotion, as well as team feedback. We conducted extensive review with the internal team, making sure each new feature launch was intuitive and effectively solving actual implementation issues. By the end of the contract, we had built out a fully fleshed out design, a new design system, and extensive documentation.
